Shoppers/Consignors/Volunteers
Shoppers
Is there a charge to enter the sale or to
park?
We never charge our shoppers to enter or to park.
What kinds of things do you sell?
Items for sale include
children's clothing in sizes preemie to kids size 18, maternity clothes,
shoes and other kid accessories. We also have a large variety
of toys, both indoor and outdoor, nursery and kid's room furniture,
bed, bath and feeding supplies. You'll also find books, videos, games,
crafts and scrapbook items, strollers,
high chairs, car seats, booster seats and much, much more.
When can I shop?
We will be open Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.,
Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8
a.m. to 2 p.m., with many items marked down to half price.
Are there any early shopping opportunities?
Our volunteers shop first. You do not have to be a consignor to
volunteer. Work any shift and shop the VIP Sale, which precedes the public sale.
Do you allow strollers?
Yes, but please understand the sale gets crowded
at certain times. It may be easier to bring a list with your
children's sizes and have your children stay with someone else while
you shop. If you choose to bring your children, we require they stay
with you at all times.
May I try on items ?
No, we do not allow items to be removed from the sale floor. It
may be helpful to take your child's measurements (i.e. inseam, rise,
etc.) or measure clothes in your child's closets that already fit
and bring those numbers and a tape measure to the sale to compare.
How many sales do you offer?
We offer 2 sales a year. March and September.
Do you take checks and credit cards?
We accept cash, check, Visa or MasterCard. All sales are
final. There will be a $30 fee on all returned checks.
Consignors
What exactly does consignment mean?
Consignment means that we sell your items for you in exchange for a
percentage of your sales and a small fee. You set your own
price on your items! Seasonal consignment
sales are a great way of making more money on items you want to sell
than yard sales, online auctions and local consignment stores.
Why do you have such a strict quality policy?
People who shop the Adorable Affordables sale have come to expect
high-quality, stylish, gently used items in excellent condition at
affordable prices.
Torn, stained and very old items are not acceptable. We may
reject some of your items; please don't be offended. It's very
important for us to maintain the integrity and high quality of our
sale.
What percentage of the selling price will I get?
Sellers receive 70 percent of each item's selling price, less a
$15 consignor fee.
When will you send my money?
We mail checks within one week of the sale's end.
Do I need to attend the sale?
We do everything for you during the sale and there's no reason for
you to be present unless you are shopping or volunteering. Just be
sure you tag your items as outlined on our Web site; check them in
and we'll do the rest.
Will you return my hangers?
All clothing items must be placed on hangers according to our
directions. When someone buys your
items, we don't remove the hangers; thus we can't return them to
you.
How will I know which items sold?
Our automated system will allow you to track your items
throughout the sale. Sale statistics will be available nightly on
the website after 10 p.m.
Can I hand-write my tags?
No. All tags must be created using our
automated system. Every item you enter in our system is given
an individual barcode that will be printed on each tag. That
barcode is scanned during our check out process and is how your
items are sold. No handwritten tags will be accepted.
Can I use tags from an automated sale
other than Adorable Affordable?
No. Barcodes
from other sale tags will not be connected to your account with
Adorable Affordable, therefore, they will not register as an
active item and will not be sold. Every item must have a tag
created and printed from our on-line system.
Volunteers
Do I have to be a consignor to volunteer and shop
the VIP sale?
No, anyone can work a shift at the sale to earn the
right to shop the VIP sale. All available shifts are listed on
our website. All volunteers must register for an OPEN shift on
the volunteer schedule on the website.
How much earlier do workers get to shop?
Volunteers get to shop the night before the sale opens to
the public at our VIP sale. The Adorable Affordables owner will determine the times
of the VIP sale.
Can my children be with me during my volunteer
shift?
Please arrange for childcare while you are volunteering during the
your shift. We are not able to provide childcare and you'll be
too busy volunteering to properly keep an eye on them .
Sometimes volunteer moms work together to provide childcare for each
other while they work.
